SoulPod Foods

SoulPod Foods, located in Croydon South, is a 100% plant-based café. The owner, Adele McConnell, had been wanting to open a vegan café for over ten years before she began working on SoulPod Foods. Adele’s plan is to help change the perception of plant-based foods as she is the author of over a dozen books and has her own vegan and organic skincare range, Dusk by Adele.

Adele runs workshops all over the world, encouraging people to eat a more plant-based diet. The mission of SoulPod Foods is to welcome everyone, regardless of their race, gender, or eating preferences and show them how simple plant-based eating can be.

The Food

One of the most popular menu items is the delicious tempeh Rueben sandwich which comprises of marinated tempeh, coleslaw, and sauerkraut on toasted spelt sourdough. Another favourite is the crumpets which can either be served with rhubarb and cream cheese or peanut butter and hemp seed. The tempeh and brown rice soul bowl is also a popular choice, which comes served with seasonal greens and vegetables and is dressed with a signature sauce.

The green bruschetta is served on mouth-watering thick cut sourdough toast and topped with fresh kale and vegan fetta. The chai spiced French toast is a new twist on a classic. Dipped in a special spiced mix, it is served with fresh berries and syrups.

The sweets cabinet is stock with many plant-based slices and cakes.
