Don’t be upsetti, eat some spaghetti

Mark and Vinny’s Spaghetti & Spritz has just launched in Surry Hills, Sydney. The new restaurant is a collaboration between food lovers Mark Filippelli and Vince Pizzinga.  Mark has owned and operated many venues, including the well known vegan cafe Matcha Mylkbar in St Kilda, Melbourne.

Vince is more of a music lover than a pasta maker, he has received two APRA nominations for ‘song of the year’ and lived in LA for 12 years producing music. The duo met by chance in LA, became best friends and started this new venture together.

If you have ever eaten at Matcha Mylkbar, you will have either tried or seen the vegan egg. The world’s first trademarked completely vegan egg was invented here and has it’s place again at Mark & Vinny’s.

Charcoal Carbonara

In the kitchen, head chef Adrian Jankuloski creates a menu for the true pasta lover, but with a twist. Modern variations include vegan carbonara made with vegan egg yolk and cured mushroom; and zucchini linguini with chickpea ragu, baby artichoke, avocado velute.

There are 14 vegan options on the menu, ranging through starters to pasta, share plates, sides and desserts, you can also have Gluten Free pasta on request.
