Fort Green

Fort Green has just celebrated its first 12 months in Northcote. What started as a Yoga studio has turned into a community based fitness and health orientated centre. Owners and Operators, Bannie Williams and Nicholas Cooke took on this project for their first hospitality venture. With a background in nutrition and operations for Bannie and design for Nick, the cafe is all about nourishing.

They wanted to make health food accessible for people. Remove the misconception that wholefoods are not tasty and make sure the people feel great after eating out.

The Food

The wholefood bowls are the most popular together with the vegan pad thai, acai bowl and the macro bowl.

All the ingredients are seasonal, and are all sourced local, as much as possible. They also take a sustainable approach with their packaging with compostable cups and smoothie cups. Fort Green also grow all their own herbs, source organic ingredients, minimise transportation of stock and work towards minimising their waste.

The Yoga Studio is above the cafe, boasting 26 classes a week. Watch out for the rollout of Dinners, popups and workshops in the near future.
