The Carringbush Hotel has reopened in Abbotsford, much to the delight of the locals. The long standing pub has been well received in there few weeks of opening, with the venue loaded with people most nights of the week.
The owners, Liam Matthews, Joel Morrison, and Singa Unlayati, from The Old Bar in Fitzroy have taken the pub in a new direction. Together with the former GM of The Old Bar, Jen Drane, The Carringbush Hotel is placing emphasis on a family friendly environment, their vision is to be a meeting place for the surrounding community, the way pubs used to be, back in the day.
The kitchen is brand new, so it is a virgin kitchen without any meat having touched the grill. Head Chef, Roxanne Olsen, formerly of Stomping Ground has designed a family-friendly vegetarian and vegan pub menu.
If you are just wanting to pop in for a beer with your mates, you can order something from the all vegan bar snacks. Snacks include root vegetable crisps, marinated olives, mixed nuts, wonton crisps, and house pickles.
The current menu offers small sharing plates, salads, burgers with fries, mains, sides, and desserts. 5 of the 6 mains are vegan, including the sweet potato steak, maple teriyaki tofu, and gnocchi. We recommend sharing a few side and mains.
The Carringbush Hotel also offers an all-vegan range of 21 beers on tap. 6 different varieties of wine, and one Kombucha on tap. You can also spice up your kombucha with a dash of spirits if you are feeling up for it.
