Sustainable Accessory Label Ahimsa Collective Selected for ING Dreamstarter Program

Luxury ethical handbag and accessory brand Ahimsa Collective is excited to announce it has been selected for the highly prestigious Dreamstarter campaign, supported by Australia’s leading bank, ING.

 

Dreamstarter is an initiative that helps to launch and grow start-up social businesses looking to make a real difference in the community by providing much-needed funding, raising their business profile and supporting them with the knowledge they need to build financially sustainable businesses, so they can make a lasting difference in the community.

 

Tessa Carroll and Susie Hemsted founded Ahimsa Collective in 2017 with a vision to not only reduce the fashion industry’s environmental footprint but to actually reverse it. The result is a range of luxury high-end accessories produced from innovative, sustainable materials that would otherwise be waste, such as pineapple leaves, sustainably forested washable paper and post-consumer plastic bottles. In addition, for every sale of an Ahimsa Collective item the brand donates $5.00 to an Australian charity that is making positive changes to the planet.

ING has pledged funding of $10,000 to Ahimsa Collective if they can raise their goal of $20,000. This will allow the brand to produce a second collection, further expand its online presence and community, and finally release a long-planned men’s range. Should it hit its stretch goal of $50,000, Ahimsa Collective will also be able to start commissioning custom branded hardware and explore the development and production of its own innovative upcycled textiles.
