First-time restaurant owners, and childhood friends, David and Cindy Nguyen, have teamed up to bring their all vegan Vietnamese eatery to the hungry people of Goodwood and surrounds. After growing up in Adelaide together, David and Cindy shared a vision to create an environment for customers to find connections, eat healthy, nutritious food and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere.
Metta Sol, meaning ‘universal loving kindness’, and the people behind it strive to promote local food, community values, mindfulness, and sustainability – one meal at a time.
Motivated by their Vietnamese roots, David and Cindy wanted to combine traditional Vietnamese cuisine with the laid back Aussie lifestyle. The entire menu is plant-based, which aligns with both David and Cindy’s personal values. Metta Sol is conveniently located in front of the Goodwood tram stop 3, only 5 from Adelaide City. Once you place your order, you can sit back and watch as your meal is prepared in the kitchen, only metres away from the dining area.
The team at Metta Sol don’t just serve up cruelty-free dishes that pack a flavour punch; they also strive to reduce their environmental impact by encouraging customers to bring in their own containers if they’re ordering takeaway meals. They’ll even take 50c off the total cost of your order to say thank you for reducing waste.
The whole team at Metta Sol recommend you try their Pho or their Metta Roll. Other menu items include their vegetable curry, made with turmeric and coconut or enjoy something on the sweeter side, like their Rhubarb compote. Pair any of these dishes with a traditional Vietnamese iced coffee (made on nut milk) and you’ve got yourself a winning combo!
