Spring has sprung, and with warmer weather on the way, you’re probably starting to think of getting out of your cocoon. We’ve done the hard yards and rounded up the must-try vegan cocktails in Melbourne.
In no particular order, here are 7 of the must-try vegan cocktails in Melbourne.
1. Choc Hazelnut Espresso Martini
Where: Good Love
This St Kilda beachside all-vegan bar serves up some of the best cocktails in town. Good Love has 4 spins on the classic Espresso Martini, our pick is the choc hazelnut cocktail.
2. Pornstar Martini
Where: Tyranny of Distance
Tyranny not only serves an all-vegan menu, but they have a full vegan bar. All of their cocktails are impressive, but we recommend the Pornstar Martini.
While munching down on your vegan pizza, enjoy a drink (or two) from the completely vegan bar at Chacho’s. We recommend the Coco Loco which tastes just like a lemon meringue pie. Aquafaba is used to replace the egg white in this dessert-like drink.
4. Up To No Good
Where: Handsome Bar
Down a hidden laneway in Melbourne’s CBD, you’ll find Handsome Bar, a new and exciting bar, offering exclusively plant-based drinks and food menu. Partnered with a moody and intimate atmosphere you will feel like you’ve been transported to a mysterious yet magical retro home.
There’s 11 different cocktails on the menu. We recommend “Up to no good”
5. Up In Smoke
Where: Ho Chi Mamas
Out for dinner and drinks in the CBD? Ho Chi Mama is a cool modern Vietnamese restaurant that happen to have amazing cocktails. If you are a fan of a pina colada then this drink for you! Bacardi Rum, coconut cream white chocolate, fresh lime, lit on fire and hit with cinnamon. It just looks like a holiday.
6. Movin’ To The Country
Where: The Corner Hotel
Earlier this year The Corner Hotel in Richmond turned their entire cocktail menu vegan. So obviously you should try them all. Our pick? Movin’ To The Country with Butterscotch schnapps, Napoleon brandy, peaches, golden syrup, orange and biscuit crumble 18
7. Bloody Mary
Where: The Carringbush Hotel
This popular Richmond pub reopened at the beginning of the year, minus the meat. The Carringbush Hotel is now a vegetarian/vegan pub. The menu has all the classics you would expect to find at an Aussie pub. Sometimes, you just need a bloody mary on a Sunday morning.
