4 Winter Menu’s You Need To Check Out

Winter has officially hit the streets of Melbourne. It’s literally cold AF. But you don’t have to stay home under the blankets or in your snuggie/full body wearable sleeping bag, yes they exist.  Here are four restaurants that are switching things up this winter to give you some vegan comfort food.

Good Love

We speak about Good Love a lot over here, but when they are continually making new and exciting vegan food that is mouthwateringly good, it’s hard not too. Changing up the menu for the cooler months, you can expect to find Loaded Fries, Poutine, KFC Burgers and some of the fanciest Espresso Martini’s available in Melbourne.

Tyranny of Distance

Launching their new winter menu last night, Tyranny of Distance has become a powerhouse of phenomenal 100% plant-based cooking this year. Don’t worry they are still doing the classics which you know and love, but you will now find a Massaman Chicken Curry and Duck in Master Stock, which will soothe your soul and warm your heart.

Serotonin Eatery

If you haven’t been to the “Happiest Cafe in Melbourne” then you need to get moving down to Serotonin. Founder of this wonderful restaurant & cafe, Emily Hazell has been working hard with her team on this new winter menu. Expect to find an Heirloom Cauliflower Bhaji with Roti Bread, Masala Rice & Raita and Mushrooms on Vegan French Toast, which has pink vegan cashew cheese. Sounds Insta worthy already. But the highlight on this new menu involves Bacon made from Banana Skin. Yes, you read that correctly, and you can find it on their Big Breakfast Board with a bunch of other goodies.

The Carringbush Hotel

Since re-opening late last year, The Carringbush Hotel has definitely found its feet and is delivering great vegetarian and vegan pub food, with a great atmosphere. The winter menu dropped about 4 weeks ago and includes some great new additions, including Vegan Pie with Mash. Honestly, it should be enough to just stop here, because that is as Australian as we can get. But they are also doing Buffalo cauliflower, with Fries, slaw and a Garlic & Chive vegan aioli and you don’t want to miss the Vegan Apple Crumble.
