This weekend is the third annual South East Beer festival from Good Beer Week. A celebration of indie breweries from Melbourne’s south east. Hosted at Bad Shepherd in Cheltenham, who are well known for their vegan pub food. They’ll be blocking off the street to showcase the best of Bayside breweries like; Jetty Road, Two Bays Brewing, Kaiju, Exit, Bojak Brewing, Stomping Ground, Mr Banks, Boatrocker and more.
There will be more than 80 beers on offer as well as food trucks, kids’ entertainment, games, prizes, live music, and it’s dog friendly! With two sessions to choose from, it’s going to be a cracker event, that is perfect for you, your mate and the whole family.
The vegan options from the condensed menu for the day will be Vegan Nachos served with a bowl of vegan chilli topped with Pico de Gallo and grated vegan cheese. Also a BBQ Jackfruit Bun served on a wholewheat bun with jalapeños, Pico de Gallo and grated vegan cheese. There will also be the Hawker Kitchen food truck Nem N Nem who have some great options also.
“2020 was a tough year for everyone and small local businesses were hit especially hard with pivots, closures and uncertainty. It will be great to get out there again in our neighbourhood and celebrate with our community, neighbours and local brewers,” Dereck Hales, owner Bad Shepherd Brewing Co.
