COVID-19 has impacted many businesses across Melbourne, it has also given rise to a new industry of creative delivery and takeaway. Chef Clare Duncan was one of the many that lost her job in hospitality, however, this spawned a new idea.
Minimum Dips is an all-vegan dip delivery service that showcases Victoria’s finest produce in a way that only dips can. These seasonal dips are not your ordinary supermarket dips. They include some classic flavours from hummus, chimichurri, and baba ganoush to the more gourmet, with a slow-cooked carrot and fava bean topped with caperberries and pickled onion. All prepared fresh each week for Sunday deliveries.
However, dips are not the only item on the menu. There are a few hearty winter soups, dunking friends, and drinks. As well as a range of decadent vegan desserts including a gently cooked Macadamia Milk Rice Pudding with Roasted Rhubarb and a touch of Rose Water, along with a Saffron Flan of sweet baked Saffron custard with Vanilla Bean, dark caramel sauce and topped with crunchy Pistachios.
If you are feeling particularly nice you can order your bestie or family a Care Package. The package includes Sweet Carrot and Fava Dip with Soused Red Onions + Caperberries, Slow-roasted Beetroot Dip with Hazelnut Dukkah, Humble Hummus Dip, A selection of dunking vegetables, pickled vegetables, olives, pita, drinks, and a Melomakarona. Walnut, Semolina, and Olive Oil Syrup Biscuits all for $50.
