Before the end of this year, there will be a new 100% plant-based butcher in Melbourne’s North-West, serving up sausages, deli meats, falafel, burgers and everything you expect from a butcher. Only the compassionate kind.
Aptly named, The Kynd Butcher is set to open its doors in Ascot Vale. A collaborative project from Matthew Sipala (You4ia Health & Active Living) and Amanda Lethlean, aiming to present a traditional butcher shop experience where plant-based meats will be the stars. With the rise of plant-based meats and a general shift towards reducing meat consumption, more recently with the Netflix release of The Game Changers. There has never been a more appropriate time for a plant-based butcher to open.
You can expect to find large display fridges, stocked with various mock meats, including burgers, roasts, falafel, sausages and deli meats. There will also be vegan cheeses along with plenty of Gluten-Free options for those with intolerances.
The Kynd Butcher is set to open on Union Road in Ascot Vale mid-December.
