The Astor Theatre Is Going Vegan For A Night

The iconic Astor Theatre in St Kilda will be going vegan for one night in December.  The night features not one but two plant powered documentary premieres. Brought to you by Animal Liberation Victoria and Raw Events Australia, this night is going to be one to remember.
You have the ability to pre-order your dinner for the big night. Ordering is available from 3 plant-based powerhouses, Good Love, Grey Cells Green, and Herbivore. There will also be snacks available to purchase, along with desserts of course.
The two films premiering are Running for Good and The End of Meat.  The first being the newest film in the achieve of award-winning co-director Keegan Kuhn, of Cowspiracy and What The Health.
Running For Good follows world record marathon runner, Fiona Oakes, as she tackles the “toughest footrace on earth”, the Marathon Des Sables 250km race through the heart of the Sahara Desert.  Fiona Oakes is well respected in endurance running, as she holds the record for the fastest woman in the world to run a marathon on all seven continents and the North Pole.  If that wasn’t enough already, then the fact that Fiona was told at age 14 that she may never walk again, should show you the determination of Fiona Oakes. Her achievements in her field, help fund a 450+ animal sanctuary of which she takes care of every day.
Executive produced by James Cromwell and narrated by Rich Roll, this film is sure to move you deeply.

The second film ‘The End of Meat’ is an in-depth discovery on what a post-meat world would look like. Filmmaker Marc Pierschel tells the story from an environmental, animal and human perspective.  “He meets Esther the Wonder Pig, who became an internet phenomenon; talks to pioneers leading the vegan movement in Germany; visits the first fully vegetarian city in India; witnesses rescued farm animals enjoying their newfound freedom; observes the future food innovators making meat and cheese without the animals, even harvesting “bacon” from the ocean, and much more”
