Melbourne has a wide range of craft breweries, which seem to pop up almost as often as a new cafe. They certainly know their way around hops but it can be difficult to find some great vegan eats at these breweries. So we have taken the leg work out of it for you and put together a list of great craft breweries that have equally great vegan food in Melbourne.
Temple brews everything on-site and their menu boasts the classic beer food, like Vegan Loaded Nachos, with vegan sour cream and vegan cheese. Other items to watch out for is the Tofu version of the chicken karaage and jackfruit tacos. Temple Brewing also has a pet-friendly beer garden, which is warm and toasty even in the wintertime.
Stomping Ground is centered around community and bring people together over great beer and great food. And a community isn’t complete without a bunch of vegans, right? We think so, and the menu at Stomping Ground definitely has a few options to choose from. There are a few different pizza’s, salads, sides and even some pumpkin and lentil fritters.
If you happen to be coeliac or just love great beer, then Two Bays Brewing Co is the perfect location to enjoy a range of great beer without thinking about gluten. A 100% gluten-free brewery that you wouldn’t know if they didn’t tell you. With three different vegan pizza’s on the menu at the taphouse, you can enjoy a slice and a tasting paddle with complete contentment.
Two Birds Brewing is known to locals as The Nest. Home to a wide range of craft beers, but also some interesting vegan options. Still designed with beer in mind, the vegan options are perfect for nibbling on while tasting the wide range. Think buffalo cauliflower, rosemary & garlic beer nuts & mushroom & black bean pattie burgers.
Fixation Brewing Company
Located right next door to Red Sparrow Pizza, The Incubator by Fixation doesn’t actually have a kitchen. But do not let that stop you. They supply the menu from Red Sparrow to all patrons who can order in and have it brought over by the great team at Red Sparrow. If that isn’t a match made in heaven, we don’t know what is.
Tallboy & Moose
Don’t be fooled by the menu as the V stands for Victory, but there are still plenty of vegan options on the cards at Tallboy & Moose. One to note is the Scottish burger with roasted field mushroom & oat patties with some highland spice, crumbed in Panko using coconut cream and served with a carrot jam. You can also grab a few different vegan curries and the crown jewel, chips and curry sauce.
Bad Shepherd is located right around the corner from our headquarters and has been a favourite for some time. Plenty of big vegan meals to choose from with live music and plenty of beer and cider to choose from.
Mornington Peninsula Brewery
This brewery on the peninsula has a range of vegan pizza’s to sink your teeth into while enjoying a number of their beers.
