Funghi e Tartufo

Funghi e Tartufo

The Details

Welcome to Melbourne’s first 100% plant-based Italian venue. The CBD is welcoming people back into its bustling streets and we are lucky to have a new vegan Italian restaurant in the Hardware Lane dining district. Grab a table on the street outside or head inside to dine in the converted 19th-century warehouse. Named after their signature dish, Funghi e Tartufo, means Mushrooms and Truffle. If that whets your appetite you are in for a treat.

Chef Alessandra D’Angelo moved to Australia from Sicily in 2009 and she has been working incessantly on vegetarian and vegan recipes since then. Most recently she owned and operated the popular Macaroni Ostaria in Clifton Hill.

“Whoever said that to eat plant-based and earth-friendly food you need to renounce the delicacies of traditional Italian cuisine?”

The menu inspiration is traditional Sicilian, and the vision is a modern and earth-friendly delicious plant-based food. On the menu, you will find a series of Antipasti to start, an extensive Pasta, lasagna and gnocchi menu and plant-based meat and fish. If you love the flavours of seafood we recommend the Breadcrumb grilled swordfish. Don’t leave without trying the signature Mushroom and truffles arancini.

Funghi e Tartufo has an extensive Wine List. That list includes exclusive labels from small artisan Italian winemakers who ethically work to produce only natural and organic products.
