Green Velvet opens its doors as St Kilda’s newest bar bringing with it a twist. The American Saloon and late-night eatery has an all-vegan menu including the extensive bar menu. Not content with just serving beer and wine, the impressive cocktail list boasts some interesting creations that have been created vegan for the first time. From a spiked ‘Egg Cream’ which is a Choc Vanilla Saffron Almond Milk Soda to the Midori Slice, a Melon, Pineapple & Lime creation with a Hot Coconut White Choc Foam.
Green Velvet is the newest venture from Matt Giles & Owen Westman from Green Burger in Collingwood. Knowing that Fitzroy st has a tendency to be a tough spot for food & drink they were excited by the challenge to bring something truly unique to the street. They have definitely delivered on the unique aspect, with plenty of areas to relax into the night. That includes next to the fireplace, the perfect spot while drinking and eating some quality vegan food. If that isn’t enough you can try your hand at vintage table shuffleboard which you will be most successful at earlier into the session.
We know that Green Burger do burgers well, and the team have brought over some of the most popular burgers to Green Velvet. But it goes a step further with Fried Chick’n, Biscuits & Gravy, Fishless ‘Beer Battered Banana Flower’ Baskets with a potato cake, battered ‘prawns’ and chips with a delicious salt and vinegar seasoning. There are a bunch of Loaded options on the menu from Fries to Onion Rings, Poutine and their famous Mac N’ Trees.
Green Velvet is definitely a place to spend some time relaxing and enjoying the night.
