There are few hidden vegan gems left in Melbourne, and Hunter Cafe and Store is one of them. Just a short drive down the coast is a very unique vegan cafe & store.
Hunter is the first fully vegan cafe in the Rye area, they opened just under two years ago and made the decision to ditch dairy for coffeenot long after opening. Owners Jaye and Kim are both vegan which made this decision really easy.
The cafe itself is really cosy, with a lot of space to sit and relax, including a large back area with lounges and white wicker hanging chairs. The vibe is surfy and fits in really well in the beachy community.
Enjoy delicious coffee made from Commonfolk’s Godfather espresso blend while devouring one of the many tasty options available. Hunter’s menu changes seasonally and has a lot of gluten-free options. This includes some loaded vegan toasties.
Some popular items include nachos with a cheesy cashew sauce, tofu satay bowl, winter soups, berrylicious waffles and signature smokey bean breakfast.
Make the most of your next weekend out of towner with a hike and well-deserved lunch at Hunter Cafe & Store.
