Melbourne loves food and coffee, that’s no secret. What we love even more is discovering unique food and coffee vans. The newest van on the food truck block is Little Mylkbar, serving up plant-based street eats and killer coffee.
The Little Mylkbar van hit the road in February this year, trading on weekends and special event days. Mother and daughter duo Claire and Christie founded the business together and are supported by Claire’s sister Caitlyn who works in the van alongside them. Claire is the Dessert Chef and creates the sweet treats and coffees while Christie is the toastie Chef and designs the amazing toastie and smoothie flavours.
Increasing awareness and compassion for animals was the motivation behind the Little Mylkbar Food van. There is something for everyone, they offer vegans and non-vegans badass soulful food that you wouldn’t know is vegan. The van is located in the North West in a peaceful parkside location, capturing the attention of families, fitness enthusiasts and visitors to the area. Most of the customers are not plant based, but get the opportunity to give vegan food a go. With some outdoor seating and plenty of grass area for a picnic, it’s the perfect spot to sit and relax while you enjoy your coffee or smoothie and your best furry friend.
The menu at Little Mylkbar is all grab and go ready. Toasties are the crowd favourite with 4 options to choose from. There’s the Sucker Punch toastie with pesto, pepperoni, sun dried tomatoes and more, as well as Chicken and BLT toasties. Or, if you like it hot, go for the Pepperoni toastie, it will put a fire in your belly!
There are daily specials like waffles with ice cream. Or choose something from the dessert counter such as brownies, carrot cake, banana bread, handmade yeast donuts, passionfruit and raspberry yoyos and more!
Feeling thirsty? Grab a hot or cold coffee (San Pedro), or one of 4 delicious smoothies. The most popular is the recently added Gym Junkie, with a hit of protein, packed full of spinach and spirulina, it is a super healthy drink that actually tastes like a peanut butter milkshake!
