The Origin Tales opened in bustling Brunswick in August 2018. When you look at the menu, you would be forgiven for thinking they were related to Oh My Greens. And that’s because they are.
The two brothers from Singapore have been cooking up a vegetarian storm for over 20 years.
Now, in Australia, they have their own restaurants. The Origin Tales is a family run business, Helen and Charlie Ong are operating the Lygon Street eatery.
“We want to make a difference in the community and expose people to plant-based food.”
The menu is large and diverse, but the most popular item on the menu is undoubtedly the Zinger tower burger. I don’t think I have ever eaten the original, but most say it is just like the real thing.
You will also find, Char Kway Teow, Mi Goreng, Vegan Roast Duck, Gyoza and Fried Rice. For the health conscious, there is also a poke bowl and cold press juices. But we suggest going straight for the zinger. The Origin Tales has something for everyone.
