Herbivore on Chapel Street opened in 2016, taking over the Mama Falafel business. Sara Mailo & Sam Walsh took on the new cafe and made it completely vegan. It is the first establishment for the both of them, they wanted to get in on the vegan action and are passionate about the saving the environment. They use biodegradable packaging and recycle anything they can.
The idea is to grow and open stores all over Australia, eventually funding an animal sanctuary. The burger recipes are all by Sam and are a result of a lot of trial and error. The patties are made onsite with beans.
It’s not just burgers at Herbivore, you can get salads, wraps, pita pockets, falafel, smoothies and sides. And of course tasty tasty burgers, these are no ordinary burgers. They are almost as big as your face and delivery not only in quantity but in quality.
