Perched on the corner of a quiet leafy street in West Melbourne, Toasta & Co press hundreds of toasties every week. The flat grill and cast iron Toastie Presses really get a workout with their new vegan menu. Because when you add 11 different big and beautiful vegan toasties to your menu, the news is bound to travel and so will the toastie fans of Melbourne.
Pushing open the door, you are met with a colourful and energetic wallpaper by artist Emily Bailey, feeding into the rainbow of colourful plates that hold the huge range of different toasties. The venue buzzes with happiness and it’s hard not to be swept up into it, especially when you see that Gluten-Free options don’t have an extra charge. But the real magic happens when your plate of perfectly crispy bread, sprinkled with salt flakes and oozing with vegan cheese arrives at your table.
Boasting some of the most epic combinations found in a sandwich, Toasta & Co have thrown caution to the wind with their innovative menu. Truffle oil, caramelised onion, BBQ pulled jackfruit, housemade Mac n Cheese, schnitzel and we haven’t even made it to the extras you can stuff inside these epic creations. The Vegan Mac Daddy is probably the biggest one of them all, filled with ‘Cheese’ blend, ‘mac ‘n’ cheese’, caramelised onion, and BBQ Sauce pulled jackfruit. If you want to add potato gems inside, you can, if you want to keep pushing the boundaries and add fries inside or even a schnitzel to it, you can do that too. There is no limit to how epic your toastie can be at Toasta & Co. So be creative and go a little crazy.
