Tonic & Grace opened in January 2018 on Glenferrie Road in Malvern. Owner Leah Blefari wanted to open a conscious eatery. Conscious of our environment, of dietary requirements and ways of eating, conscious of food and service, quality of ingredients and exciting eating options. Most of the menu items are vegan and gluten-free, with the option of adding animal products in the side menu.
Working with Head Chef Jason Huang, formerly working with George Calombaris, the food is flavorsome and moresome. After 16 years in the industry, it was evident to Leah that this style of cafe was not available to health-conscious and environmentally minded customers. Even though there is bacon on the menu, it is rarely ordered, customers are more than happy with the food they are presented with.
Popular items on the menu at Tonic & Grace are the Smash-A-Cado, Harajuku Lover (Vegan okonomiyaki). Not to be missed is the Nyctophilia which are chocolate pancakes with salted caramel, maple, and dark chocolate ganache sauce.
