Mildura’s newest cafe, Witch Doctor, opened inside the Visitor and Information Centre/Waves Gym on Deakin Avenue. Brimming with natural light, the interior has high ceilings and wooden accents, with the colours and decor inspired by a recent visit to Bali by owners Emma Ablett & James Slorach.
The location was a big influence on the menu at Witch Doctor, offering healthy options for those who have just finished a workout or are just more health-focused. This is not the first cafe for James and Emma, who have been running the popular Blk Mlk cafe for just over 3 years. Slorach has also had a lot of experience working in the cafe industry in Adelaide, Melbourne and overseas.
“Our mission is to contribute to a healthy, balanced, and sustainable life through good food, beverages and core beliefs. We do our best to source as much local, organic and ethically farmed produce available to us. Our menu has been tailored to work with customers in providing a well balanced lifestyle menu that promotes a healthy body and soul. Combining a team of professional and motivated staff, we work closely with Sunraysia Community Health Services to ensure our menu doesn’t just read and taste healthy, it genuinely is.” Says James
Head Chef Shaun Dacey has enjoyed the challenge of creating tasty vegan options that don’t make you feel like you are missing out on anything. Vegan options include a stuffed sweet potato with black beans kale and guacamole. Skillet vegan nachos, a poke bowl, Choc PB smoothie bowl, falafel salad, and chocolate protein pancakes.
Witch Doctor believes that coffee is an important factor, it has a certain way of connecting people. That’s why they have sourced Five Senses coffee that they brew on their state of the art Synesso S200.
